2023 Sacramento Safari Event will be in Sacramento at the Embassy Suites Hotel and the California State Capitol February 27 - February 28, 2023
The time has come…..SAC SAFARI registration is NOW OPEN!
What is Sacramento Safari and why should I attend?? Sac Safari is Fourth District PTA’s (CUCPTSA is within Fourth District PTA) annual two-day advocacy trip to our State Capitol. Orange County PTA members get to hear from key speakers on issues that affect children, youth and families; learn about the inner workings of state government; advocate directly to our legislators; and network with other PTA advocates. #1 Before you register, please make sure that …
- Your school site PTA has a line item for $800 for Sac Safari. If they do, you’re golden! Proceed with registration!
- If they do not or you do not know and you are able to attend (February 27th & 28th Sacramento, CA), YOU MUST request, at your next executive board meeting, for a line item to be added to the budget for Sac Safari in the amount of $800 to cover your flight and the registration fee. It then must also be approved by your association at your next meeting. Then you can proceed with the registration process!

- MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO IS TO REGISTER ASAP! There are only 100 spots available and they will go quickly! I am anticipating 20-25 just from our council! WHICH WOULD BE FANTASTIC AND SO FUN!
- If you share a room with someone it is $125 cheaper than a single room. If you register for a double occupancy room, there is a space to enter a name of a person you would like to room with. If you know who that is already, enter that person name. If you do not know of someone but would like to be paired with someone from our group, just leave it blank. We will provide this information to fourth district at a later date.
The flights from SNA (Orange County) to SMF (Sacramento, CA) through Southwest seem to be the fav airline but there are no morning flights available on Southwest or United from OC that I have found. There is a flight on Southwest from Long Beach at 7:25am that gets you to Sacramento by 8:35am. You will want to arrive in Sacramento prior to our first speaker which is at 10am on Monday, February 27th. You’ll need to provide your own transportation (uber, taxi) to the hotel. They are easy to find when you land in Sacramento.
Departing flight on Tuesday should be no earlier than 7pm. We end about 5pm and then have to travel 15-20 min to the airport.
We will discussing all of this at Friday’s meeting. We will also have Louise Robertson, who is on the team that is coordinating Sac Safari for Fourth District, join us to answer questions, give us information on possible speakers and hopefully tell us the advocacy focus/theme for this years event! :)
Sac Safari is SUCH AN AWESOME experience and I am excited to share in this fun event with all of you. I hope you can join us!
